Increased teacher professionalism is a key factor in improving the education system and furthering its achievements. The Branco Weiss Institute conducts in-service teacher training devoted to learning and thinking strategies that maintain educational processes oriented towards achieving defined goals and results.

The training is geared to the "infusion" of best-thinking and best-learning standards into classroom teaching, with resources allocated to individual tutoring and supervision of actual teacher implementation.

The contents of the in-service teacher workshops include: planning and evaluation of student learning with particular focus upon "understanding performances," principles of individualized teaching, learning and thinking strategies, and emotional intelligence in learning.

In-school programs and in-service courses

The Branco Weiss Institute has a variety of in-school programs to provide subject teachers, home-room teachers, and school administrations with the tools and language for classroom work. Among the tools employed are observation and feedback, training subject teachers and home-room teachers, a new look at the curriculum, and so forth.
